The vision for Giggles and Grounds Play Cafe has been culminating for years!

Early Childhood Education, has always been my path - from babysitting as a teenager, teaching swimming lessons to toddlers, working at the campus preschool while earning my BA in Early Childhood Education - I have always worked with children! I have always been fascinated by children’s capabilities, cognitive and social development and the purpose and joy they bring to life. I went on to earn a MA in Education: Early Childhood emphasis, while also working at a progressive, creative, thoughtful preschool that truly captured the magic of childhood and made every day meaningful for each child. This is where I really learned the value of offering children high quality environments to foster exploration and curiosity.

Fast forward to becoming a mother to my two boys - I began visiting public spaces for children with them. Parks, museums, science centers - it was fun but I wished for more connection, more opportunities to engage with other families in a similar stage, more chances for my children to really play with other children and learn in developmentally appropriate ways. And also, my own desire for a moment of unwinding, time to chat with other parents and finish my cup of coffee, still hot!

And here we are, Giggles and Grounds Play Cafe is born. You will find me making lattes, teaching preschool art classes and playgroups, and behind the scenes running the business! My hope is for this to be a space you can connect with other families, have a moment of recharge and joy.
